The first “It looks good!” has closed and has announced Davide Barberis, young photographer from Genoa, the winner. The Prize dedicated to photography has been set up in order to support young creative artists and to require them to convey the values of historical Toschi, which is celebrating its 65th anniversary this year.
Toschi crowns Davide Barberis the winner of the first “It looks good!”, a competition, which was promoted together with Artegiovane in order to celebrate 65th birthday of the Modena-based company through the young creatives’ language.
“The image I chose – says Davide Barberis from Genoa, year of birth 1983 – was thought up to make palpable pleasure and sensuality, which are implied in “tasting” something delicious. In order to give life to all these sensations, I chose as a subject the strawberry, which is undoubtedly one of the sweetest, tastiest and most loved food. In order to give rythm and movement to the setting, for the background I chose two female lips, which are eager to bite the fruit”.
“Life is tasty” was the subject (strictly related to company pay off), which the photographers ranging from 18 and 40 years had to convey by means of a snapshot.
After a first selection, which was made by Artegiovane together with Toschi, a panel made up of famous professionals has chosen the winner, who besides receiving a prize money equal to 1,500 euro, will meet the artist Franco Fontana for one day.
The panel members of this first “It looks good” are Franco Fontana (Artist), Rosanna Gangemi (Director of DROME magazine), Arianna Rinaldo (Photo editor for D of Repubblica newspaper), Francesco Zanot (photographic critic and freelance curator) and Massimo Toschi, Toschi managing director.

The competition has established itself as a true opportunity for young Italian and foreign photographers. The competition participation has been remarkable and international too. The main social networks have allowed us to carry out a wide-reaching spread of the initiative”.
